How old is your appliance?
Choose the brand, enter the number from the rating label, and we will decode the manufacture date when the manufacturer format lets us do it reliably.
Brands covered
Exact decoding where a reliable rule is available, and clear label guidance where it is not.
What number should I enter?
That depends on the manufacturer. Bosch, Siemens and NEFF use an FD production number. Most other brands use a serial number. Select the brand first and the checker changes the field automatically.
The information icon beside the field shows where the rating label is normally found for the appliance type you selected. It floats over the form, so opening it does not move the check button.
Appliance age questions
Can a serial number tell me how old an appliance is?
Often, but not always. Some manufacturers encode a clear year and month. Others use a year code that repeats, or different formats across product ranges. This checker only returns a date when the rule is reliable for the number entered.
What happens if the year is ambiguous?
The result says “Age can’t be determined from this number for this brand.” The checker does not ask you to estimate a decade and does not pick a likely year.
What is an FD number?
On Bosch, Siemens and NEFF appliances, the FD number is a production code on the rating plate. It is separate from the E Nr model number and normal serial number.
Is manufacture date the same as purchase date?
No. An appliance may have been manufactured weeks or months before it was sold or installed.
